Meddlesome Gods: On The Creation of Elysium
|
It is not long after the rumble and whispers of Tranquil City that people start to crowd onto Blessing Avenue and a few are even granted permission to enter the Elysium. Clergy, of course, can enter at will. The Gods have set it as so. Larthin has a faint Godly flow to him but he has taken his 'tall, dark, and handsome' look over being full on 'God'. He is perched on the center of a couch with little Kamala at his side, leaning very slightly behind him in nervousness. The first Child found has not been around people very much, considering she was awoken quite young. She's even still quite young. She doesn't have any of the traits of the various Kingdoms. She has the appearance of someone born in the Seat of the Gods. A bit of an amusing note she wears a paler version of Larthin's typical 'black and gold' style of dressing. A cute puffy skirt that is clearly beyond expensive. Larthin, being the type of God he is, has decided to have Kamala dressed in an outfit that goes well with his. His outfit is in the black and gold hues, darker than Kamala's, with the story book 'prince' look. It goes well with the little girl's outfit. It is likely no surprise that the First God will be expecting visitors to greet him and Kamala not them greeting visitors.
For those unaware, Kamala looks to be about 8 years old.
The rumble was impossible not to hear, but to feel. The man in the red robes approaches this sudden new building, and thankfully, the godly energies do not throw him out onto the streets.
Hopefully.
"By the gods...." Ozymandias says in wonder of this Elysium. Yet he sees Larthin, and he bows at the waist to the deity and he Child of the Gods. "Father of All." He greets him with a smile. "You honor is all with this gift the gods have given unto the Children."
Finding herself put to work gracefully coordinating whatever plan it is that the Gods have, Lorin stops to curtsey three times, fully, reverentially lowering her face to the ground before backing one step up and repeating the process. Ritual complete...
She wouldn't be any kind of Courtesan at all if /she/ were the first to rush in...
With the smiting and the random chaos this particular god has brought, Lorin nearly lights up as she does crowd control, keeping everything moving upon the demands of the it's-happening-right-now event.
With a rather serious expression on her face, Taya makes her way into this new place so close to the gods. She is perhaps unsurprised that she is welcomed here, but her expression is more stoic than anything at the moment. She wears a gray fur-lined cloak to keep out the freezing weather, and she removes it as she makes her way further in. Espying Larthin and his daughter, she offers them both a polite curtsey, the sort she might offer to one of her aunts or uncles.
The First God draws his focus to Ozymandias when he arrives and speaks. It is always good to compliment Larthin He likes to be flattered, "Archbishop of Mataya, welcome to the home of the Children of Gods. the other Gods wanted a safe place for the Children and it seemed reasonable." He waves a hand towards one of the seats that have been created as part of the Elysium. "Sit. Liam didn't feel like coming down. He was distracted." The knowing look that touches his features implies his 'distraction' is of a more intimate nature. "And you know Kamala here." After a glance up to Larthin the little girl stands up and gives a curtsy, directed to everyone in the room. Though it is a curtsy, it is just a slight one. She might be a born commoner but Larthin clearly told her to behave as a Child of his should. Confident and superior. Her curtsy might be slight her face betrays that she is not use to being the center of attention or even about people. When little Kamala notices Taya her expression lights up. After an uncertain glance to Larthin the child bounds to the princess to throw her arms around her. Taya was the first one to touch her after she lost her parents so she is slightly more attached to the princess. Larthin looks more amused than annoyed by Kamala's antics. Lorin, "You're not here as a Courtesan, Paramour." says Larthin to her. "No need to act as one. Elysium will remove anyone being rough." Now Taya draws his eyes and the princess is bid over by Larthin and a spot beside him is patted. At the moment Taya seems to be favored by Larthin. "My child seems attached to you, Princess. Can't say I blame her."
As she stoops a bit to wrap Kamala in a warm and motherly hug, Taya smiles fondly, her expression softening, and she kisses the girl on the cheek. "Darling, how are you doing?" she asks the girl seriously, treating her with all the dignity one might afford an adult. "You look quite charming today. Come, let us go sit where your father desires." She offers the girl her hand to take, and she heads over to where Larthin has indicated that she sit.
"Most Divine," she says to Larthin with a gentle enough smile. "Kamala is of an age with one of my own children, and I am very sensitive to her situation. She is precious and I am glad to have her affection. She has mine."
Lorin draws in closer, a hand splayed across her collarbones. "However it pleases You," She tells Larthin. Why risk it? Drawing close instead to Oxymandias, here to field exactly such divine congregations, Lorin glances from Larthin to Kamala to Ozy.
Ozymandias rises back to his full height, and he seems to look upon Taya with a simple nod, though his attention is swiftly back on Larthin. "I thank you, my lord." Ozymandias tells him. Though commanded to sit, Ozymandias approaches the seats and seems to take his seat, his hands resting on the front of his thighs and his eyes ever forward. Though as he listens that Liam didn't feel like coming down, he tilts his head. "May I ask why? He seemed amiable to coming to the Seat of the Gods." He tells him, though as his eyes turn to the little girl, Kamala, he seems to smile, and gives the young woman a little wave. Though as the young lady rushes over to Taya, he smiles softly. "A good match, if I do say so myself. Kamala appears a child of a wonderous heart. Birds of a feather often flock together, no?" Ozymandias smiles then, before he looks to Larthin. "It was a wise decision, I think. Now the Gods may have a place to speak with their children, and a place where the Children may be kept safe."
Taya gets a smile from Larthin first this time and spoken to first, "she is quite young. I did not expect what happened to her parents to have." Well, more likely he didn't care enough to make sure it didn't. Larthin has made no secret that he's not the biggest fan of mortals. Nor is it a secret that some catch his interest. The petty First God is a box of contradictions. Along the back of the couch Larthin stretches his arms as Kamala wriggles between the God and Princess. To Taya Kamala says, "I am well. The Clergy of Larthin take good care of me. And I was given this by Larthin." An indication to her outfit is given. A pause here before she corrects herself, "By my father. It is so soft and fancy! I've never owned something so fancy." The little girl talks so excitedly now that there are more people she is comfortable with. When Ozymandias waves she returns it excitedly, "Hi again!" she tells him cheerfully with a bright smile. Children are resilient so she is likely just plowing through the pain of losing her mortal parents over dwelling on it. Larthin focuses on Lorin once more and asks, amusement entering his voice, "Do you fear me, Paramour? You're the first Courtesan I've met to be so timid." Now he responds to Ozymandias, "He wanted to spend more time in private with his servant girl, Archbishop. Should I spell out what I mean by time? I am not so cruel of a God I would interfere with my own son's pleasure." Towards Ozymandias the God leans, lifting a hand to grasp his chin, "Or shall I take you into another room and show you what he is up too?" The form of Larthin shifts into a female version of his 'tall, dark, and handsome' look and his voice becomes feminine, "I can be whatever you prefer." The female Larthin has a sweetly seductive voice and when she laughs it as an alluring sound. As his hand falls he shifts back to his 'typical' form. Kamala stares at the God in wonder at his shifting and asks, "Can I do that too?" For the moment Larthin doesn't answer the child, perhaps waiting to see how the mortals respond to the little girl.
There's a moment where Taya just stares a bit at Larthin, one brow arched quizzically as she watches his transformation. She takes a deep breath and lets it out, glancing down at Kamala again. "Your outfit is lovely. It's very appropriate for the daughter of a god. And perhaps your father will teach you when you get older, hmm?" she says to the child, and then looks to Larthin for a moment, slightly uncertain.
Ozymandias seems to cough a moment. "I see. Forgive, I am somewhat oblivious in this field. I'm no womanizer." Ozymandias suggests then with humor intended in his voice, though regardless of Larthin's 'duh, dipshit' politely put words, Ozymandias seems to frown a moment when his chin is grabbed and Larthin transforms into a feminine version of himself. Larthina? Larthin, still. As a God's name is ever so much a god's name.
Though he simply shakes his head at Larthin. "No thank you." He says in a calm voice, seemingly unperturbed by the feminine Larthin's flirting nor what wrath he may invoke by denying pleasure from a god. Though when Kamala questions if she can do that too, Oz turns his attention away from the deity to look upon her. "As you grow older, so too will your ability to affect the world. Who knows, maybe you can become like the great whales underneath the waters, or as tall as the mountain!" Ozymandias suddenly has the demeanor of a father himself, as if trying to invoke the young child's imagination.
His eyes briefly gaze towards Lorin, but before he can speak, he realizes it is wise if hek eeps the majority of his attention on the deity present.
Lorin laughs softly, bashfully covering her face. "Most Divine, I have always welcomed your presence. Many times, I have found my particular blessings from Thou Most Glorious, and I dare say some of my contracts have had a spanner in the works." But enough of that. Her attention turns to the same play Taya's did: absolute fascination with costumery. "It really is a gorgeous outfit," She tells Kamala. "Weaving is a passion of mine. If you ever wish for beautiful fabrics, you have but to let me know." A pause. "And gain the approval of your father."
Taya's questioning look does get a humm, "I have not considered what the Children of Gods are capable of." muses the First God, "It is possible they can learn or do more than the innate magic all mortals are born with. It might be worth looking into." Not him, of course. Such things are the duty of mortals. Larthin is, as he does, playing at knowing less than he actually does when it comes to mortals. Since Taya seems to be his current 'love interest' Ozymandias' refusal gets more of an amused look than bothered, "And what if it was Mataya who made the offer, Archbishop? Would you dare refuse her too? Are you not afeared of the consequences of telling a God no?" To Lorin Larthin looks and his tone becomes cold, "You will not bring any of the Children of Gods into your contracts, Courtesan. I know how they work. I will not allow a mortal to make any of my children cry." He did specifically say mortal. Which likely means he is somewhat acknowledging that he made MAtaya cry. Only somewhat. His tone shifts just as quickly as he continues on, "Though, I find how your contracts work when used on other mortals."
How your contracts work to be quite amusing when*
Ozymandias looks upon Lorin for a moment, seemingly amused with her answer to the god and he looks approving of her wish to weave beautiful fabrics for the young lady. But, before he can converse with her, his attention is largely stolen by the amused Larthin, who questions if his answer would have been different should Mataya have offered herself to him.
"Alas, while flattered, my answer would still be no. I rely on love, All-Father, rather than find my pleasure in the physical. Foolish as I may be, I am not afraid of denying a God what I have the right to deny. I do not wish to offend, however." He tells Larthin then, his head bowing softly to the deity. It would appear that Ozymandias is particular of to whom his body may be serviced and for him he may service in return!
Though Oz does not appear to be a prude. He looks at Larthin then, tempted to ask if he ever made right that he made Mataya weep, but he will not disgrace his mistress, or dare to charge forth, as a mortal, carrying her banner. It would likely be taken poorly anyway.
Taya is urged (by urged it really means she basically sent off with the child) to bring Kamala to her room in Elysium. Kamala does take the time to beam at Lorin for her words, "I just said what I liked and got this pretty dress." since she is being sent off the child goes along with Taya, talking excitedly about her room and about giving Taya a tour of it. It seems the princess will be claimed by the currently youngest Child of Gods.
Larthin laughs at Ozymandias words, "You might hurt the feelings of your Goddess if you refuse, Archbishop." With that said Larthin stands, "I am off now." He turns to walk away, fading out of existence as he does so.
