While the ‘delays’ often set them back it did not stop their progress. It even brought on a change. Magic. Mataya and Attia, the Gods who care the most about mortals, felt the mortals needed more to help them appease the Gods. This included them. Vlatka, Roark, Mircea, and Rona had retired or passed on as the rulers by this point, naming their heirs Kings and Queens. Brielle, Rona’s heir, became Queen for Choisi. Eliana, Vlatka’s heir, became Queen for Divinus. Matias, Roark’s heir, became King for Luminat. Orion, Mircea’s Heir, became king for Santua.

They were still building up the kingdoms, while dealing with Larthin’s ‘setbacks.’ It frustrated the mortals but there was nothing they could do to change it until they figured out how to appease the Gods how desired. The Council of Devoted were quiet during the initial setting up of the kingdoms, cursing their mistakes and fearing the anger of the Gods. As the people continued to build, despite the taking of their time by the Gods, the mortals managed to establish their kingdoms properly over the years. The Council of the Devoted decided to try and influence the people and the leaders: Brielle, Eliana, Matias, and Orion to do their bidding as they had convinced Aldrich. However, their influence had started to stop working as well as they would have liked for it too. Sure, they had sway, but the leaders did as they wanted more than listening to the Council of the Devoted.

It was after a point where Larthin took an extra long span of time back from the mortals that Attia and Mataya decided to bless the mortals with magic. Together the two Gods used their abilities and flowering vines with crystal flowers wound around all the people, capturing them in the warm embrace of the two Gods powers. From Mataya the mortals got visions of what they could be, though not clear, and from Attia they get the words, “Mataya and I will give you all a blessing. Henceforth, no matter how often Larthin takes time from you, you will be able to use special magical abilities unique to you. Even if someone’s magical abilities seem almost as if it is the exact same, it is not. All magic is unique to the caster.”

Larthin, being the petty God arrived as well, speaking up as shadows encased the flowering vines of Mataya and Attia, “My children are bold.” Observes the First God. “You may use magic but they will come with consequences that means your death. The more you use your magic the shorter your life span.” It is the dismay that calls Ossian down next. He silently stares at Mataya then glances to Attia and Larthin before saying, “The magic has consequences indeed and can result into death if you are a fool but it will not shorten your life span but give different drawbacks.” White spectral stags appear and run along the shadowy flowered vines, combining the powers of the four Gods. Larthin, being a petty God, looks annoyed but as he always does, he yields to his children just enough to show his affection towards them. “Fine, my children, I will let you have this as it now is.”

With those words spoken the four powers spiral into a brilliant light that turns into columns of silver, green, crimson, and dark blue. As the light fades away the mortals feel themselves endowed with magical powers. At first they could not use them but they did understand what the magic was. With the help of the Gods, the Council of the Devoted, and training the mortals learned to properly harness their magic.

However, the Council of the Devoted saw a chance to try and restrict people from using magic. They tried to spin that using their magics too often was abusing the magic given to them by the Gods. At first all the kingdoms listened by the Council of the Devoted started to try and restrict the use magic more and more. This attempt to control magic is what finally had the mortals stop turning to the Council of the Devoted and view these extremists as an ‘enemy’. The Rulers of the kingdoms instead started to find new ‘clergy’, as that is what the Council of the Devoted was at some point, to handle religious matters in a calmer and less restrictive ways.

This is when it became absolutely clear that the Council of the Devoted was not the people they needed to have but struggle against. This is also when the Council of the Devoted started fully acting out against the kingdoms. The kingdoms and the Seat of Gods were spouting blasphemy for not heeding the word of the Council of the Devoted as they were the ones ‘closest to the Gods’.

The next two generations were devoted to firmly establishing each kingdom, trying to keep the Council of the Devoted under control, and properly using their magic. The events of these two generations were not the most eventful but the kings and queens that ruled were remembered. After Brielle there was King Soren Choisi then King Kylian Choisi who, of course, ruled the Choisi Kingdom until the current Queen Missiah took over for her father Kylian. After Eliana was Queen/King Kori Divinus then King Wilbur Divinus until the current Queen Elene who took over for her father. After Matias was Queen Arleth Luminat then King/Queen Aiden Luminat before the current King Jaden. Finally, after Orion was Queen Cora Santua and King Clive Santua before the current King Kalem.
