Game news:Mortals Bring Change

OOC Note: This is the 'time frame' that the mortals affect. Everything written from here onwards is as a result of the actions of the players of Atharia.

With the creation of kingdoms, the granting of magic and new ways of living the mortals continued on with finding ways to appease the Gods and with trying to reign in the Council of the Devoted and their extreme methods. The question now is will the mortals meet the expectations and achieve the things they must in this generation?

When the Gods decide to meddle, they do. Their meddling, this time, resulted into a plead to find the Children of Gods, their children. Mataya pleaded with the mortals to find them and bestowed upon them a necklace with a glowing orb that alerts when an awoken Child of Gods is near by. With the necklace and the plead of Mataya the mortals set out to find the Children of Gods, facing perils and difficulties they were not expecting. They have, so far, succeeded in finding the Children of Gods and protecting them. The Children of Gods currently found, in the order they were discovered, are: Kamala Divinus, Liam Santua, Valeria Santua, Ozymandias Luminat, Taya Divinus, Lilah Willowbrooke, Tai Farreach and Ren Whitewater.

After the first two Children of Gods were found Tranquil City in the Seat of Gods rumbled, as if an earthquake, and started to whisper of a new building created by the Gods. Elysium, the safe haven for the Children of Gods. It was quickly learned that only those trusted by the Children of Gods, the Clergy, the Kings and Queens, and those temporarily given access by the Gods could enter the building without being forced out. Several of the Children of Gods have been found by the mortals and those Children have begun their tasks from the Gods.

In tangent with the search for the Children of Gods, Queen Missiah, under orders of Ossian, set forth the people of Atharia to find a creature that Ossian wanted found, something called 'Song of the Sea'. As with all missions from the Gods there was no solid details to just what the 'Song of the Sea'. Missiah Choisi, Taya Divinus, Ozymandias Luminart, Valeria Santua, and Hilda found the Song of the Sea, who are merfolk, and brought it back to Tranquil City where Mataya took the mermaids away then some months later created a haven for them in House of God Mataya. Lilah Willowbrooke, Tai Farreach, Taya Divinus, Ozymandias Luminat, Larthin,Berilys Fielding, and Ren Whitewater were also involved with finding the 'Lost Gods'. With a book provided by Ren Whitewater they learned how to find the Lost Gods, as on the last pages of the books were what looked line instructions. They went into the lands of The Seat of Gods and to the spot where 'Mataya fell'. In the caverns below they found the twin Lost Gods.

Rajani, a Child of Mataya, was acknowledge by King Jaden Luminat as his daughter. He explained she was hidden away, as that was what was done with Child of Gods until recently, to protect her. Not long after her being publicly declared a Princess of Luminat Rajani, Prince Liam Santua, and Liam's servant Essa Snow discovered a 'secret' God, Echo, who decided to test mortals to decide if they were worth the God joining the known Gods. This God tested Rajani, Liam, Essa, Sorine, Kalei, and Jesse with varyin tests, some good, some bad. Either way, people faced a test before Echo officially decided to join Larthin, Mataya, Ossian, Attia, Soleil, Hilal, and Masquerade.

The mortals have found more of the Children and have made mythical creature discoveries. Kelvin and Jesse were asked by Hilal to seek out and pacify a creature that was taking honor from the mortals. They took out the leader of the medusas and saved the majority of Santuan villagers that had been turned to stone. Kelvin, Ozymandias and Drew found the Seventh God. Well, more that they felt a call from the God and were 'summoned'. They discovered a demanding dog in the market square and were pulled into the fountain, to a living room, where the Seventh God was. Masquerade, the Seventh God, spoke with them and awoke Drew as it's Child. Eventually the tale of how Masquerade came to be started to spread.

Archbishop Ozymandias was on a task for one of the Gods, no one is certain who, after he finished his Conclave creation, when it started spreading that he almost failed the task and got a rare moment of Ossian showing emotion for something beyond his creatures, his animals, or Mataya. He, it seems, was not pleased that Ozymandias almost failed his task from the Gods and spilled that Mataya was dying and Ozymandias was the key to saving her. He is to give his life or ascend so that his power revived her power to its fully charge. For Ossian to have made his feelings know, Ozymandias had to have been dangerously close to failure.

Several days after the anger of Ossian the Archbishop was seen praying at the Lost Temple at the top of the mountains. Though his prayers were directed to Mataya telling he would offer his life for hers. He got his answer almost instantly. All of the Gods appeared before him, save for the silent Goddess Mataya. She must have grown so weak that she could not even appear before her Child. All Eight Gods, even the one so little is known of beyond that the God exists, bear sorrow on their faces. They knew what he was doing and even the Gods who are more self involved or indifferent were mourning the Archbishop for his choice. Each God touched Ozymandias' cheek and murmured words only for his ears and with each touch the Archbishop found himself growing weaker and weaker but beside Ossian Mataya started to appear, brighter and brighter. When the final God, Ossian, touched and spoke his words Ozymandias collapsed to the ground. Well, more specifically into the arms of his mother who had moved to capture her Child with Ossian. He still breathed, but barely. "Always." Was the only word that escaped the Goddess. With that Ozymandias' final breath was taken away by his mother, while she sobbed, her cries were heartbreaking and reached all corners of Atharia. Everyone could feel the intensity of her sorrow, as if their own.

Ossian and Mataya's Houses both start to rumble and shake, as if they were going to collapse but they didn't. Once they stopped shaking and the clergy and followers inside them could be heard crying out in awe and sorrow. They all instinctively knew why those two temples gained a statue of the Child of Mataya and Ozymandias. He gave his life for the dying God, Mataya. His life meant she would live, so she was no longer dying. She was saved and all rejoiced but also mourned the loss of the Archbishop.
