  • Mercenary: Kelvin is a mercenary, working private jobs and secure contracts for a variety of tasks. He focuses on quality, not quantity, and has built up an impressive reputation in a relatively short amount of time. Making a name for himself over the last couple of years, he has developed contacts and reputations in all four kingdoms with few complaints and a strong recommendation: never violate a contract with Kelvin.
  • Santua Kingdom: Kelvin is very much Santuan in many ways, a lot of them very obvious.

Kelvin is a short Santuan man in his mid-20s standing only just over six feet, but sharp as obsidian. His skin is deep purple tinted black with stark golden eyes ringed with violet, bearing a touch of permanent sadness. With his head often bowed, his piercing angular face is usually obscured by the hundreds of long, wispy grey braids that hang from his head, coarse tendrils of hair the color of ash in snow woven into thin tendrils that drape to his chest, longer in the back than the front. He stands straight backed with shoulders that need no padding in the black armor that is strapped to his form. He wears a bandolier of throwing knives across his chest and a ranger's cloak and cowl of dark grey that that he often tries to hide within.


Kelvin has an affinity to locational magic and can create portals from where he is to a place he has seen before. Unless someone is physically touching Kelvin, only he can sense the portal or its boundaries, sometimes creating issues of trust for anyone expecting to pass through it with no real confidence of what may lie on the other side. While the portal is open he experiences pain, which intensifies the longer the portal is open. If he holds a portal open long enough, it will cause him to pass out from the intensity. The pain begins to fade inversely once the portal closes, but takes twice as long to do so. The pain itself varies, seemingly at random and can be stabbing, piercing, burning, convulsion, aching, crushing, shocking, or sometimes more than once. Not knowing what to expect and how many types of pain might appear just makes the situation that much worse.


Kelvin is usually rather cold and quiet, unused to the intricacies of societal norms. When he has the patience, he generally waits without saying something until addressed. It takes Kelvin a moment to warm to new acquaintances and loosen up enough for conversations. Once he opens himself to a conversation, however, he can expound on most topics of interest with intensity, especially if it involves ideas outside of convention.
