Players are allowed to make builds of their own. We have set up a 'construction site' for people to build off of. It is linked to the hub. We are not really restricting how many rooms you have but do keep in mind if staff thinks you are getting excessive (generally this will be when it starts getting above 10 rooms) we might ask you to shrink your build down. All rooms must have a description and &area set on them. All builds need to be requested for staff approval and to be linked to the grid.  If you don't want to build something but a build on grid appeals to you, you are welcome to request to staff to own it (provided it is not owned by a PC or a named NPC). Do not change descriptions or add rooms once a build is linked to the grid. Things to keep in mind when building:<p>
On Atharia staff allows players to build stuff of their own accord. We have set up a room off the OOC Hub, the room you start in after the agreement room or when you type +ooc. The ‘construction site’ is the exit labelled ‘CS’. Follow the instructions on the room for how to build you first room. We have no restrictions on how big your build is but keep in mind that if staff feels you are getting carried away (typically going beyond 10-15 rooms) with your build, we will ask you to scale it down a little.
Keep it appropriate to the setting. Atharia does not have high tech things so describing a building as having computers and top of the line security is not appropriate. <p>
You are very welcome to write in that nameless masses are doing something in your place. A house has servants (not all are PCs) who can be doing their jobs, businesses have customers and employees, they can be mentioned.<p>
All rooms need to have '''%r%t''' at the start and a '''%R%r%t''' in between paragraphs and an exit in and out. '''The exits out need to have 'o', 'out', and 'exit' in the names.''' If appropriate you can by all means use the same description across multiple rooms. Places like rentable rooms in inns are entirely welcome to repeat descriptions.<p>
Builds are unlikely to be removed from the grid unless they are personal bedrooms or houses owned by one person. All family homes will be owned to the grid builder, Vulcan. Businesses will be left in the hands of the player who builds it unless they give up the character then it will be owned to the grid builder for someone to potentially pick up in the future.<p>
The naming format is: <room name or building name (depending on if it is the first room or not) - <building name if not listed first> - <area it is built in> So it would look like:<p><br>
First room: Example House - Street - Residential District<br>
Rooms connected to that: Bedroom - Example House - Street<p><br>
Each room must have an Area set. It is not a super huge deal if you forget to set it or don't know what to set it as. Staff will assure it is properly set. Areas are set with: '''&area here=<appropriate area>''' and 'places' are set with '''&ea <here>=<appropriate place>'''.
<p>
What these two attributes do is help +where know where you are to sort the list in a nice, readable fashion. So when setting the area and ea would look something like:<p>
<br>
&ea here=Minerva's House
&area here=Seat of the Gods

The area is the over all part of the grid you're on. The areas available are:<p><br>
That said, we have established businesses, homes, and apartments on grid that players can ‘claim’. You can ‘rent’ a room at Gods’ Blessing Inn off the Market Square, Throne of Gods Tavern off Bard Lane, or an apartment in Garden View Apartments off Knight Avenue. If a character is a roster staff generally tries to make it so they can plug and play right into having everything they need (sometimes we forget). So, they will start with a room and/or home.

All builds should be theme appropriate, which we’ve hopefully outlines well enough. You’re not likely to have top notch security with all the bells and whistles or ultra-modern stuff. The majority of Atharia likely runs on magic over technology, after all. So, lighting, computers, television, etc type stuff would be something done via magic and likely not ‘perfect’ or anything. You can 100% give indications of what the nameless masses are doing in your builds. Maybe they are renewing magic they set, maybe they are servants cooking, etc.

What you need to put on all the rooms is '''&ea''', '''&area''', '''&outside=1''' (or '''&inside =1''') and '''%R%t''' ('''%R%r%t for new paragraphs''') at the start and between every paragraph with a '''%r at the end''' of the description. All of these don’t have to be set by you, staff will either way. It just eases what we do. So, assuming you’ve followed instructions for your first room (if you plan on more and have set everything for it) you would do something like this for each additional room:
* Greenleaf City
<quote>
* Highwood City
@dig Kitchen - My Place=KIT,O;out;exit (you can add as many aliases as you want)
* Maplegrove City
Go through KIT to your new room
* Kinhall City

* Santua Kingdom
&area here=Tranquil City (+areas if you want/need something different)
&ea here=<Street name or build name>
&inside here=1 (or &outside here=1)
</quote>
That’s it. If building really isn’t your thing you can toss in a request with your description(s) and the room name(s) you want and staff will handle the building.

You can 100% give indications of what the nameless masses are doing in your builds. Maybe they are renewing magic they set, maybe they are servants cooking, etc.

Businesses that are frequently used and multi-person owned homes/locales are unlikely to be removed from the grid without good reason. Individually owned rooms/homes will likely be removed when the character is retired/idled out unless the character was originally a roster.
